LAPBOOKING through the BIBLE

One of our main goals of homeschooling is to give our children a true love and knowledge of God's Holy Word, which I believe can truly be accomplished through the wonderful, creative, and visual art of lapbooking.

Our first three books of the Bible... GENESIS, EXODUS, and LEVITICUS

These were created by Mom and our 6yo girl.  Much of the writing was done by Mom, while the design, layout, drawing, and some of the gluing and cutting was done by a 6yo. ~~~~~~~~ The main supplies used are colored file folders, markers, scissors, tape, glue sticks and washable glue, glitter gel pens (to decorate the covers), and cardstock for the mini books inside.

Below is a larger picture to try to show that we are covering most of the main points, major verses, important people, and the overall main themes of each book that we read and study.  (Using an adult "Study Bible" of some kind is an excellent tool to help you determine what are the main ideas to cover in each book!!  I personally love the "Life Application Bible".) Even if the children are too young to complete the whole lapbook by themselves, these creations make wonderful reference and learning tools to be used, enjoyed, shared, and displayed for years to come.  All who see them will benefit and learn more about God's Word--which is the main objective for all of us!!
